A musical dialogue with an Eastern European flair inspires our March 28th concert. 1999 Cleveland International Piano Competition winner and 2001 Van Cliburn Silver Medalist Antonio Pompa-Baldi solos with BlueWater in Kabalevsky’s Concerto No. 4, “Prague,” with its nod to Bohemian sensibilities and its many quotes from Czech folk music.

Slavic spirit continues with Mozart’s inventive Symphony No. 38 in D Major, “Prague.” Czech composer Leoš Janáček’s Suite for Strings opens this intriguing, rewarding evening as we explore the 23-year-old’s earliest composition for large ensemble.
