Saint-Georges: Symphonie Concertante in G Major, Op. 13
Ken Johnston and Emily Cornelius, violins
Beethoven: “Ah, Perfido!”
Laura Pedersen, soprano
Mozart: Symphony No. 40 in g minor

The 18th century comes to life with renowned works by the two most eminent composers of the era. Soprano Laura Pedersen returns to sing Beethoven’s dramatic concert aria, while the orchestra performs Mozart’s penultimate symphony. The concert begins with a work for two violins by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Known as “the black Mozart,” he was every bit as famous in that epoch, acclaimed for his excellence with both the fiddle and the sword.
