Vivaldi: Concerto in D, RV 93

Dorman: How to Love for Guitar and Strings
Cleveland Premiere

Beethoven: Symphony No. 7

Grammy-winner Jason Vieaux joined BlueWater Chamber Orchestra and Artistic Director Daniel Meyer in performances of two divergent works for solo guitar with string orchestra. The Vivaldi Concerto in D, RV 93 is a beloved masterpiece from the 17th century, while Israeli composer Avner Dorman’s concerto How to Love for guitar and strings resonates deeply with our times. Dorman writes, “How to Love speaks to the essentials of mindfulness and how to love. How to love oneself, how to listen and understand, be happy, and even disagree. The journey of embracing imperfection in order to love each other fully is explored throughout all the movements.” The program concluded with Beethoven’s joyful Symphony No. 7.
