Walker: The Golden Harp
Beethoven: Mass in C

Celestial energy abounds on a crisp fall evening in University Circle, when BlueWater Chamber Orchestra performs with the Cleveland Chamber Choir at the spectacular Church of the Covenant. The gentle, lyrical poetry of Rabindranath Tagore is set to music in The Golden Harp, celebrating beauty of the divine and beauty of the soul within. The soaring sounds of Beethoven’s Mass in C then inspire a poetic presence of the master himself.

BlueWater Celtic Charisma

CELTIC CHARISMA

Linda Atherton, cello

 Saturday, May 6, 2023
7:30 pm
Plymouth Church UCC
2860 Coventry Road
Shaker Heights, OH 44120

Finzi: A Severn Rhapsody

Boyle: Elegy
Linda Atherton, cello

Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 3, Op. 56
in a minor “Scottish”

The Celtic connection is evident in this delightful evening of music inspired by the people, cultures and landscapes of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. Finzi rhapsodizes the Severn river valley, Boyle interprets a poem about the mythical harp of the Dagda (with BlueWater’s Linda Atherton on cello) and then Mendelssohn explores the wild romantic landscapes of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.

It’s the enduring spirit of the celts set to music.
